Joining a committee of the Pflugerville Chamber is a great way to connect with other business leaders in the community. Committees play an important role in executing the Chamber’s mission, and we encourage you to become involved with any of the committees listed below. Ambassadors
Chair: Heather Hall, Community Impact
Purpose: Promote the Chamber by building relationships with our investors.
Responsibilities: Lead recruitment of new investors for the Chamber. Serve as greeters/hosts for select Chamber events and communicate with new investors and those renewing about their benefits and chamber activities. Attend ribbon cuttings and groundbreakings and mentor new investors by helping them understand Chamber benefits. Plan Investor Appreciation event.
Investor Programs/Services
Chair: Karen Milley, P.M. Art
Purpose: Serve as a resource for our investors by providing beneficial programs, education and networking opportunities.
Responsibilities: Guide the planning of investor programs. Plan annual calendar for programs/events. Support current members and encourage greater stakeholder involvement, participation and visibility in Chamber activities. Conduct annual investor survey. Create investment levels and sponsorship benefits.
Marketing
Chair: Gwen Pyle, afp / Sealed Air
Purpose: Promote the Chamber with consistent messaging to create a pro-business climate with engaged investors.
Responsibilities: Create marketing ideas that communicate an effective value proposition to our investors. Create social media content. Work with staff to create brand standards and logo design. Evaluate current publications (electronic & print) and create new ones as needed. Review annual sponsorship opportunities for the Chamber.
Special Events
Chair: Jenni Nickelson, BioLife Plasma Services; Melissa Lochansingh, Biltmore at the Park
Purpose: Promote the Chamber through community relations by building a positive quality of life.
Responsibilities: Fundraising through events to award scholarships to graduating PfISD students. Oversee two annual events – Pfamily Pfestival & Expo and Business Awards Banquet. For the Expo, committee members will plan and execute a showcase for local businesses to promote their products to the entire community. For the Business Awards Banquet, committee members will plan a formal event celebrating and highlighting the leadership of the business community. These annual events help improve and promote the quality of life in Pflugerville.
Scholarship
Chair: Chris Okafor, Okafor & Associates
Purpose: To promote higher education among graduating Pflugerville students.
Responsibilities: Create and review scholarship applications each spring.
